The Special Needs Department offers both consultative and on-site services to professionals, parents and students in the area nursery, congregation and day schools. Professionals in the department are available to meet with parents, teachers, administrators and individuals with disabilities of day schools and congregational schools  to offer guidance regarding schools, resources, accommodations and services in the community. Has lists of schools, camps and teen programs that have services for children with special needs, and Jewish deaf resources.
Kesher Connection is a newsletter that connects people with disabilities and their families to Jewish community resources and programs.  This newsletter is written and published by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington's Special Needs Professional Advisory Committee. Available online at www.shalomdc.org.

Annual conference "Opening the Gates of Torah" for parents, teacher and community members who have an interest in Special Needs. Contact Lenore Layman for more information. This years conference will be held on December 3, 2006 at 2:30 at Adas Israel.
