Program/Service Notes:

BETHESDA HELP addresses the needs of the elderly, disabled and low income who reside in Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Glen Echo, Kensington, Potomac (south) and Silver Spring (west), and Rockville. The type of aid given consists of food 3 day supply which can be delivered, clothing, financial assistance (emergency for an eviction, utilities, and for prescriptions-given to agency not person.  Volunteers will take individual to medical appointments and social service appointments and information and referral. Messages are picked up every hour.
Need people to do food drives, volunteers to be drivers and deliver food bags. Need telephone "officer of the day" to respond to messages on the answering service - work from 9 to 4 and provide follow up. Provide training for volunteers.
