Georgetown Safeway collection bin on Wisconsin Ave(for a few books at a time - not boxes full please!)

Please ensure all items are in excellent, almost AS NEW condition

Children's books URGENTLY needed!  Accepts
Hardcover and softcover books of all types. This includes fiction novels (No Hardcovers); Softcovers from 1995 to the present - pages must by white - no yellowing); self-help; biography; art; photo; how-to's; history; gardening, cookbooks; religion; politics, etc.
Encyclopedia Britannica sets from 1990-present are needed, individual volumes are not.
Movies - DVD and VHS 
CD's - music, instructional, videogames, etc.
Audiobooks on CD or cassette
Collectible items such as antique/autographed books, vintage magazines, comic books, memorabilia, figurines, etc. are very useful -auction them and use the proceeds to fund  programs.  You will receive a tax-deduction for the full auction value of the item. Accepts any kind of collectible/rare item, including figurines, etc.

NO
- Hardcover fiction unless signed or collectible 
- Textbooks - please no textbooks unless they were published in the last two years
- Book Sale "Leftovers"
- Yellowed or damaged books
- Magazines
- Outdated books - including travel guides/books published before 2002; politics or current events published before 2005; items that look dated or just plain old (unless antique)

If you are in Arlington, Alexandria, DC, or Betheda/Chevy Chase, and have at least 50 books, CDs, movies, audiotapes, or some combination of these, Books for America will come to your house or office to pick them up. For larger quantities will go even further. To arrange a pick-up, just send an email to info@booksforamerica.org saying that you have items to donate. Please leave your phone number and they will call you  to arrange a pick-up.
