The Prevention of Blindness Society of the Metropolitan Area provides vision screening to children for vision loss and strabismus, visual fields screenings for glaucoma for adults and senior citizens; rendering eye examinations and eye glasses for the poor and homeless; offering pamphlets, speakers and programs on specific eye problems – and more.
Contributions to Thrift Shops Will Be Used to Fund These Programs.

Accepts Antiques, Vintage Clothing, Clean, gently used Clothing, Collectibles,
Art, Jewelry, Small Rugs in good condition, Bric-a-brac and china, Tools, Books, Kitchen Items.

Does not accept Major appliances (Stoves, Refrigerators, Dishwashers, Washing Machines and Dryers), Bathroom and kitchen fixtures, Console TV's and Stereos,  
Small appliances, toys, games, or bicycles that do not work, computers unless flat screen monitor or less than 2 years old.
 
The Kensington, MD shop accepts mainly antiques and collectibles. You can bring in modern things which they will send to other stores.  Pick up for furniture, large items, and large quantities only. For a pick-up of your larger items, call main office at 202-234-1010 or Kensington shop at 301-942-4707.

Other shops take clothes, furniture, household items, and antiques. Accepts small appliances.
