Provides comprehensive, accessible, low-fee services to improve families, individuals and the community through counseling, child placement, youth development and helping seniors stay active and independent.

The mission of Family and Child Services, Inc. (F&CS) is to improve individual, family and community life by providing a broad range of professional services and supports in areas such as individual, family and group counseling, child placement, camping and services to older Americans. Founded in 1882, F&CS is one of the oldest, most innovative social services organizations in America, each year providing services to 10,000 area residents.
Services include: a network of in-home daycare providers, mental health/counseling services for domestic violence, therapeutic and traditional foster care, adoptions program for foster children, summer and winter camping programs for underprivileged children, and programs for senior citizens including in-home case management services for frail elderly. pre and post adoption services.
Programs include: Adoption Resource Center, Alzheimer's Weekend Respite Program, Bright Futures Teen Mothers' Program, Camp Moss Hollow, Columbia Senior Center, Families & Schools Together (FAST), Model Cities Senior Wellness Center, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and Senior Works.
