Program/Service Notes:

Provides financial counseling to assist individuals who are having difficulty in handling their money. Helps individuals resolve financial problems and promoting the wise use of credit and sound money management through free budget counseling, debt management intervention and community education.  Criteria: difficulty in making payments on mortgage, and credit card debts.  Holds workshop on purchasing a home. 

CCN doesn't lend money, nor are they a collection agency, or a government agency. They are a leading provider of credit counseling, financial education, and debt repayment plans.  Nonprofit 501(c) 3 community service organization accredited by the Council on Accreditation Services for Families and Children. 

CCN also is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), which was created in 1951. NFCC is the nation's oldest and largest non-profit organization providing financial education and confidential credit counseling services through its member agencies. CCN has of more than 1,300 offices across the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. 

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Washington (CCCS) is a nonprofit community service organization providing financial education, quality credit counseling, and debt management services. Since 1973 we have provided clients with the resources, tools, and information they need to be successful. We are serious about debt management and proving immediate creditor relief, dignity and independence. 

BANKRUPTY Under new law, must have prebankruptcy counseling, MMI has been approved by the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees to issue counseling certificates in compliance with the bankruptcy code. * 

Money Management International has a team of trained counselors who will work one-on-one with you to create a detailed personal financial assessment. During the assessment, the counselor will work with you to analyze your income, expenses, assets and liabilities and provide the client with a true and accurate picture of your financial situation. 

You will be taken through all of the components of a typical credit counseling session. Upon completion of the bankruptcy counseling session, you will be issued a certificate of participation. This certificate will allow you to proceed with the bankruptcy process. It is our desire to make this delivery process as smooth and efficient as possible. 

We have eleven convenient office locations where you can visit one-on-one with one of our certified credit counselors. These in-depth and personalized sessions will help you assess and prioritize your debts, establish a pay-off plan, and develop financial goals. For your convenience, we also offer telephone and Internet counseling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
