DOROT is a not-for-profit, multi-service agency which extends a lifeline of support to homebound and homeless elders. We bolster their autonomy; reconnect them to the community; and help them live with dignity, at home, for as long as possible. DOROT's 18 programs serve over 10,000 elderly and their caregivers each year. Our services are provided by a unique and ever-expanding corps of volunteers, with an intergenerational emphasis that benefits both elder and volunteer. Now numbering more than 5,000 adults and 3,500 children, our volunteer force is among the largest in the United States. DOROT means "generations" in Hebrew.
