Homecrest House is the result of the commitment by members of National Capital B'nai B'rith Lodges to promote affordable fair housing for senior citizens of limited income. The facility has grown from one apartment building to its present size of three buildings offering two levels of support for seniors and qualifying disabled adults. Our goal is to create a supportive and caring environment which promotes seniors and qualifying disabled adults to live life to its fullest potential.

Eligibility: Stein and Moskowitz Buildings
Couple: head or spouse must be at least 62 years of age 
Handicapped person: minimum age is 18 and requires the accessibility features of the handicap unit 
Financial status: for rental subsidy, annual income must not exceed limits set by HUD. 

The Stein and Moskowitz buildings, designed for active seniors and qualifying disabled adults, offer the amenities of modern luxury apartment living. An attractive glass enclosed promenade joins the lobbies of the Stein and Moskowitz buildings.

Among the many standard features you will find are wall-to-wall carpeting, individually-controlled heat and air conditioning, grab rails in the bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen. Each apartment is equipped with smoke detectors and sprinklers, and an emergency-alert system which is monitored 24 hours a day by our staff. Each resident participates in the mandatory Kosher style meal plan - at additional cost - which provides the evening meal.

Homecrest is Kosher style, meat only.  They use parve for dairy. Purchase Kosher food and keep kosher and honor all high holidays. Use Sodexho Food Services, the General Manager has been there over 16 years and complies with the rules of purchasing and preparation. There is no certifying body.
