The Hebrew Home is a not-for-profit center which provides a full range of nursing home services in a warm, Jewish environment.  
	*  short stay rehabilitation and post-hospital care to speed recovery
	* specialized Alzheimer's/dementia care
	* compassionate long term care for complex medical conditions and end-of-life care

Rakusin Rehabilitation and Special Care Center:
	A special 70 bed unit that provides short stay rehabilitative and recuperative care and post-hospital stays for those recovering from stroke, heart attack, hip fracture or surgery or having other complex care needs.  Call admissions office.

Long Term Care:
	Provides  full range of services to meet the individual and complex needs of the frail elderly including secure Alzheimer care,  24-hour nursing, medical, all therapies, extensive activities, social work support for residents and families, special diets and kosher meals, religious services, on-site clinics.  Call admissions office.

Outpatient Therapy Service: 
	For those in the community with physician's orders for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, audiology services,  specializing in adult and geriatric services.  Direct line: 301-816-7757.

Research Institute: 
	Director: Dr. Jiska Cohen-Mansfield, 301-770-8453
	Investigates problems of older people with  special emphasis on nursing home residents, their families, and staff.  Some recent grants fund studies on tracing the development of agitation, on interventions to manage  disruptive behavior,  on the impact of removing the drugs prescribed for disruptive behaviors, and on pain assessment in non-communicative patients.
