Community residential program providing training to enable adults with disabilities to be more independent and integrated members of the community through provision of group home and apartment programs. Residents are selected and served without regard to race, religion or national origin. JFGH serves more than 149 adults with developmental disabilities and chronic mental illness in group homes and apartments. The program serves individuals with disabilities including mental retardation, learning disabilities, physical impairments, hearing impairments and chronic mental illness.  The agency currently operates 21 group homes, with live-in staff supervision, each serving 4-6 residents; and 39 oversees apartments with drop-in counseling and care management services. JFGH direct care staff are trained in the area of CPR, first aid, etc., so they are prepared to handle increasingly complex medical issues of aging residents as required by the State. 
JFGH's part-time Jewish Living Coordinator provides staff training in basic Judaism and Kashrut, as well as "hands-on" training for Shabbat, holidays, and life-cycle events to staff and residents at all group homes, apartments, and other living arrangements
Nurses train and supervise the direct-care staff who must administer medication and post-surgical treatments.  JFGH's nurse consultants, in particular, have experienced tripled demands during the last two years alone.

Opportunities for persons willing to share their time and talent one-to-one with residents, or to regularly visit a home.  We welcome groups to provide holiday/crafts programming, bowling, hiking, and other activities.  Professionals such as dentists are sought to enrich the lives of the residents.  Donations of goods such as household items and automobiles are appreciated.
