Lishma - from the phrase "Torah studied for its own sake" - is an egalitarian yeshiva-study summer program for Jews ages 18 through 25 who want to explore traditional texts from a religious perspective. Participants are also involved in Social Action, a weekend camping trip, spiritual mentoring, community building and more. Lishma's staff is drawn from the Ziegler School for Rabbinic Studies at the University of Judaism and from respected scholars around the country. The Lishma program was initiated with a grant from the Covenant Foundation and the Jewish Community Foundation.
