Job training program sponsored by the Jewish Council for the Aging. The dual purposes of the program are to provide low income seniors part-time community service positions at Host Agencies which provide valuable hands-on or training and work experience for which a stipend (minimum wage paid with grant funds) is received and to promote transition to unsubsidized employment. Participants gain confidence, enhance incomes and learn employment skills and support their communities.
Participants work 20 hours a week
Senior Service America, Inc., the U.S. Department of Labor, and Montgomery County Health & Human Services support the JCA Senior Community Service Employment Program. Public contracts require that JCA limit this program to Montgomery County residents and Montgomery County training sites.
