The Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) helps older people remain in the homes of their choice and in life's mainstream as long and as independently as possible.  Volunteers support that effort.  JCA's Volunteer Information Corps has immediate openings for adult volunteers who can help operate its Information Services, The Senior HelpLine, HomeCare Resource Center and Connect-A-Ride programs.  The elderly benefit from the work volunteers do to help link older people, their families, and advocates to existing community resources in the Washington DC, Metropolitan area.  Volunteers update computer files, conduct follow-up calls to clients, assemble information packets, answer the phone, or represent JCA at special events in the community.  Currently JCA has a particular need for both English speaking and bilingual volunteers.  Russian speaking volunteers are encouraged to apply to join JCA's Volunteer Information Corps.
Volunteers need computer skills and comfort speaking on the phone.

Program Details:

Hours: Mon-Fri, 9-5 (closed on Jewish holidays)
