In addition to providing education and training within the community, the DCCADV provides individual and systems advocacy, conducts research, and serves as a local and national resource on domestic violence. The DCCADV also operates the following programs:
  
The Victim Advocacy Program (VAP): VAP is geared toward helping domestic violence victims navigate the complicated D.C. judicial system. 

The Targeted Offender Program (TOP): DCCADV provides specialized direct services to victims of domestic violence who have been assessed as being extremely high-risk for lethality. 

The Supporting Our Survivors Center (SOS): a confidentially-located non-residential counseling center for battered women and their children. The SOS Center provides comprehensive services: education, referrals, crisis counseling, case management, mental health services, support groups, and emergency financial assistance. There are special groups for children. The SOS Center provides services that are normally only available to victims in shelters.
 
The Coalition-Building Project (CBP): An ongoing effort to build alliances between providers, educators, lawyers, advocates, and victims. The goals of the CBP include reducing duplicate services, identifying service gaps, and determining services that should be provided jointly. The CBP also creates public awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts that work to change the prevailing ideals, laws, and conditions that shape domestic violence.
