Independent non-profit organization founded in 1985 to help alleviate poverty, hunger and disease among the people of the world regardless of race, religion or nationality. AJWS provides humanitarian aid, technical support, emergency relief and skilled volunteers to  grass roots project partners that are implementing small-scale, self-sustaining development projects in the areas of healthcare, education, economic development and agriculture reform. AJWS is one of a small number of organizations that supports grassroots organizations creating change in the developing world. Our core development projects are profiled on this site. With your support, AJWS provides help in 35 countries to more than 200 grassroots projects, making a significant and sustainable difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people throughout the world. Two different volunteer programs, plus accept donation for emergency relief and general development work.

Hours: Mon-Fri, 9-5

Eligibility: Any Jewish adult male or female college graduate or professional. For one program - high school seniors.

Fees: Donations accepted/ For Volunteer Corp,organization pays for air fare and emergency evacuation. Individual pays- housing, food and living costs. Shorter term programs are paid or by participants.
