American Physicians Fellowship for Medicine in Israel (APF) is an organization of North American physicians and health care professionals dedicated to advancing the state of medical education, research and health care in Israel.
APF is the sole organization designated by the State of Israel to maintain an Emergency Medical Volunteer Registry. In the event of a national crisis in Israel the registry will be called upon to provide necessary manpower to the civilian hospitals.
Volunteers are needed in all health care specialties.  The State of Israel will provide Emergency Medical Volunteers with travel, housing arrangements and insurance during time of emergency. You can download an emergency medical volunteer application  from their website.

The APF Fellowship Program helps train Israeli physicians in specialty care. The fellowships serve as a supplement to established post-residency programs in North America.  APF fellows are Israeli physicians or key medical administrators who demonstrate a financial need and the importance of the fellowship to the Israeli medical community.  APF grants are typically $3,000 to $5,000 and are awarded for one year.  APF fellows are expected to return to Israel to work in the medical field.  An applicant's Israeli sponsoring institution must confirm that a position is available when the fellowship term has ended.

The organization is seeking funds from contributions and grants. These funds will be used for unrestricted operating expenses, special projects and endowments.
