As the American section of the overall Zionist body throughout the world, it operates primarily in the field of aliyah from free countries, education in the Diaspora, youth and Hechalutz, organization and information, cultural institutions, publications;  conducts a worldwide Hebrew cultural program including special seminars and pedagogic manuals;  disperses information and assists in research projects concerning Israel;  promotes, publishes, and distributes books, periodicals, and pamphlets concerning developments in Israel, Zionism and Jewish history.
